At the time of Industry 4.0, changes are taking place in companies, mainly related to digitization, but also others, such as organizational ones. When managing these changes, we can use project management, where we understand change as a project. For these purposes, it is necessary to know the principles of project management, which are taught at our school in the subject Project Management. In order to update the content of this course and adapt it to the requirements of Industry 4.0, we cooperated with the consulting company New Dimension, which deals with this issue.
In the summer teaching period of the school year 2021/22, the students of the second year in the subject Project Management were acquainted with the theory of project management, but also with the practical application of its methodologies. The practical training was focused on the implementation of your own project, it took place throughout the summer from February to mid-April. At the end of the teaching period, an expert from the company New Dimension, Ing. Miroslav Marek was invited to our school. He presented examples of implementing changes in companies in the period of Industry 4.0 through project management. He focused on specific examples of waterfall methodologies and agile project management. As part of the waterfall methodology, the students, led by Mr. Marek, compiled a Gantt diagram on the topic of the New Training Program. After summarizing the waterfall methodology, they worked on the methodology of agile project management, specifically the SCRUM methodology. In solving the practical task, they focused on dividing the project into small parts, so-called sprints; they focused on the importance of individual sprints in the project and on providing immediate feedback after the implementation of each sprint. They divided the roles of business owner, product owner, scrum master and agile team.
Within the IndEra project, the content of the subject Project Management was updated according to the requirements of Industry 4.0 in cooperation with the consulting company New Dimension. An expert from this company led part of the students' lessons.
